Getting ready wedding photos are an important part of the wedding day as it captures those moments of anticipation and overwhelming joy. You will definitely look back at the memories in the years to come. This is the perfect time to take pictures of those sweet and candid moments with loved ones and create memories forever. Moreover, these photos help you get comfortable in front of the camera all those jitters you feel will soon be gone! The extended exposure can help you get used to the photographer and their equipment. By the time you have your first look or ceremony; you will pose like a pro!

Location

It is advisable to book an AirBnB or Vacation Home for getting ready. Especially if you have a large group, because cramming more people into a small room spells disaster for sure. Ensure the space has large windows, and light colored furniture and walls. Most Airbnb/Vacation Homes are well decorated, stylish, have great space and provide a ton of natural light that helps create beautiful photos. It is best for the bride and groom to get ready at the same location, but if that isn’t feasible, opt for a place that is situated just 10 to 15 minutes away with traffic from each other (don’t forget to take the traffic into account).

Can’t do a AirBnB/Vacation Home

If you prefer to do your getting ready at the Venue or Hotel make sure they have large windows and space for your wedding party. As mentioned before a ton of natural light helps create beautiful photos.

Clean Room

A clean room on the wedding day can be somewhat difficult but a cluttered room will ruin your photos. Designate a closet or another room to put your suit cases, bags, laundry, and etc. Make sure there isn’t any trash lying around (food, drinks, tissues, etc.) When everything is cleaned before I arrive this will allow me to start working once I am at your location.

Details

The preparation photos include details such as jewelry, shoes, dress, cufflinks, makeup and hair being done, interactions between the bride/groom with their respective wedding parties, and so on. Have invitation made specifically for you detail photos. Please have the detail items in a shoe box so that way when I arrive I can start taking photos immediately.

Individual Portraits

Right after the getting ready preparations, it's an ideal time to photograph the bride and groom separately. The ideal locations are outdoors, the bridal suit, hotel room or anywhere with natural light.
